Al-Somah Denies Provoking Anyone with His Celebration in the Al-Rass Derby
Omar Al Soma, the striker for Al-Hazem Saudi club, denied any intention to provoke anyone with his celebration after scoring a goal against Al-Kholood yesterday, Friday.
The Syrian star scored a penalty goal, leading Al-Hazem to a 2-1 victory over their rival Al-Kholood in the Al-Rass derby yesterday, Friday, as part of the ninth round of the Saudi Professional League.
Al-Somah said in a statement after the match: "Thank God for the victory. I congratulate all the fans who came to support us at the stadium, as well as my teammates, the coaching staff, the administrative team, and the medical team—everyone gave their best."
He added: "There was tremendous work in the last ten days, and we were very focused on this match. Praise be to God who honored us today and we succeeded in securing the three points."
Regarding his celebration after the goal, Al-Somah said: "I didn't mean anything by my celebration, but a derby has to have some excitement. However, I did not intend to offend the Al-Kholood fans, and they know that."
