Crystal Palace Considers Selling Guehi in January to Avoid Losing Him for Free

Crystal Palace is considering allowing their captain, Marc Guehi, to leave during the winter transfer window to avoid losing him on a free transfer when his contract expires next June, according to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

Coach Oliver Glasner emphasized in the press conference before the match against Wolverhampton that the player's future is still in the hands of the club, explaining: "I don't know, the decision is up to the club. Marc shows full commitment to Crystal Palace every week. We're not thinking about it right now. We have 15 matches until January 10th, and it doesn't seem like he's considering leaving. We're prepared for all possibilities, but I don't know what will happen."

On the final day of last summer's transfer window, Jéhi came close to moving to Liverpool for £35 million, but the management rejected the deal at the last moment due to the lack of a suitable replacement.

The newspaper pointed out that the defender, who has become one of the top players in his position in the English Premier League, will be able to start negotiations with clubs outside the Premier League from January 1, while Crystal Palace intends to benefit financially from his departure during the winter transfer window.

The report added that FC Barcelona is closely monitoring Gyehi's situation, especially since he fits the needs of coach Hans Flick, although the Catalan club does not plan to engage in any bidding wars for the player.
