Olmo: Everyone is excited for the World Cup, and we need to improve in this matter
Spanish national team star Dani Olmo appeared in press statements after the 2-2 draw against Turkey, which secured a playoff spot for the 2026 World Cup finals, in the match held at La Cartuja Stadium.
Olmo said in his post-match interview: "We didn't celebrate as enthusiastically as we did in the previous match. We wanted to finish the game with a clean sheet. We are happy to have qualified for the World Cup."
He added: "They had their chances, and so did we. We could have scored more goals. We need to improve our performance on set pieces."
Regarding the pitch: "This is not an excuse. It was the same for both teams. It didn't make a difference."
He concluded about the enthusiasm for the World Cup: "The players and the coaching staff are excited, but first comes the international break in March, and then there will be time to prepare."
