Martinez's Absence Raises Questions Within Al-Nassr Before Facing Al-Khaleej
Monday 17-11-2025
Saudi press reports have revealed details of the injury sustained by Spanish player Iñigo Martínez, the defender for Al-Nassr Club, which led to his absence from the scrimmage the team played against the under-21 youth team this evening.

The sports newspaper clarified that Martinez did not participate in the match due to a minor muscle strain. The player opted to perform individual physical exercises to prevent the injury from worsening before the competitions resume.

The Frenchman Kingsley Coman was also absent from the drill for the same reasons, after experiencing muscle fatigue that forced him to stick to a special fitness program away from group participation.

On another note, Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus chose not to include Saad Al-Nasser, Ayman Yahya, and Saad Haqawi in the lineup, despite their recovery from recent injuries. He preferred to ensure their full readiness before their complete return.

Al-Nassr continues to lead the Saudi Professional League standings with 24 points, as they prepare for their upcoming match against Al-Khaleej in the ninth round of the competition.

The coaching staff has given the team players a day off tomorrow, with preparations set to resume on Tuesday to continue getting ready for the anticipated match next Sunday.
