Saudi Football Federation Modifies Warning Penalties in Roshen League
The Saudi Football Federation announced its intention to make amendments to the disciplinary and ethics regulations, the most notable of which is the adjustment of the warning penalties. These amendments are set to take effect starting December 5th.
The Football Association clarified in an official circular to the clubs that the teams' observations and opinions will be taken into consideration during the review and analysis of the regulations to ensure fairness and avoid loopholes.
One of the most notable amendments in Article 16 is the increase of the suspension limit for players due to yellow cards from 3 to 4. A player will be automatically suspended for the next match upon receiving 4 yellow cards in different matches within the same league.
The amendment also stipulates that clubs' requests to cancel any warning must be based on the fact that this warning was not explicitly recorded in the player's identity, in order to limit the submission of unjustified protests against warnings that cannot be amended.
These amendments come as the Roshen Saudi League competitions are on hold, due to the national team's preparations for two friendly matches against Ivory Coast and Algeria on November 14 and 18, as part of the training program for the Arab Cup scheduled to take place in Qatar next December.
The union aims through these measures to achieve greater transparency in the application of disciplinary sanctions and to ensure fair competition among all clubs participating in the Saudi Professional League.
