Crystal Palace Defender Returns to Barcelona's Interest
Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that FC Barcelona has re-linked its name with Colombian right-back Daniel Munoz, a player from Crystal Palace, as part of sporting director Deco's plans for the 2026/2027 season.
Munoz, 29, has been performing impressively this season in the Premier League and is a key player in Crystal Palace's lineup, attracting the interest of major clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea. The player is contracted until 2028, with a market value estimated at around 30 million euros.
Barcelona currently has Koundé as the starting right-back, with the possibility of relying on Eric Garcia, who has transitioned from playing on the right flank to a defensive position, making the right-back position one of the potential areas for reinforcement in the summer transfer market.
The newspaper noted that Munoz has been a Barcelona fan since childhood, having stated upon his transfer from Atlético Nacional to Belgian Genk in July 2020: "For me, this will be a wonderful journey; this league can offer me many opportunities to improve, and why not think about reaching a league like the Premier League or La Liga, because my dream is to play for Barcelona."
