Thursday 06-11-2025
The star of Al-Zawraa Club and the Iraqi national team, Hassan Abdul Karim 'Quqiya', sent a positive message to the coach of the Iraqi national team, Graham Arnold, just a few days before the crucial match against the UAE national team in the Asian playoff for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, scheduled for the 13th and 18th of this month.

Sources revealed that Australian coach Graham Arnold attended the Al-Zawraa Stadium yesterday to watch the team's match against Istiklol Dushanbe in the fourth round of the AFC Champions League 2, to ensure the readiness of the national team trio Jalal Hassan, Hassan Abdul Karim, and Akam Hashem before the national team camp in Baghdad begins.

The sources confirmed that Arnold expressed great satisfaction with the players' fitness and technical level, noting that Quqiya stole the spotlight with his outstanding performance after scoring the first goal and creating several dangerous opportunities, presenting himself in the best possible way before the Iraqi national team's upcoming challenges.

Quqiya succeeded in winning the Best Player of the Match award, continuing his remarkable brilliance in the last week on both local and Asian levels, having scored two goals and assisted two others in just the last two matches, confirming his strong return to the peak of his performance.

In statements after the match, Quqiya said: "I thank my teammates and the fans for their great support; I left the penalty execution for Ibrahim Tumiwa to integrate more with the group and score more goals, as we work as a cohesive unit aimed at serving the team."

He added: "The award I received is the result of collective work; we are all the best and not separate individuals, and our goal is to continue delivering outstanding performances and achieving technical stability for the swallows both locally and in Asia."

Quqiya is set to join the Iraqi national team camp in Baghdad, which will start tomorrow, Friday, after it was postponed by coach Arnold to give the players some rest before entering the atmosphere of the anticipated match against the UAE.
