The match started shockingly for Barcelona, as Nicolo Tresoldi opened the scoring for Club Brugge in the 7th minute after a well-organized quick attack, before Ferran Torres quickly responded and equalized for Barcelona in the 9th minute. Despite this early equalizer, Club Brugge regained their lead in the 17th minute through the outstanding player Carlos Forbes.
