The Al-Zawraa team managed to achieve an important victory over its guest Istiklol Dushanbe from Tajikistan with a score of two goals to one, in the match of the fourth round of the AFC Champions League 2, which took place at Al-Zawraa Stadium with a remarkable audience presence.

The match started with a good performance from Al-Zawraa, as the team controlled the ball and created many attacking opportunities, before Hassan Abdul Karim managed to open the scoring in the 7th minute, giving Al-Zawraa an early lead.

Al-Zawraa continued to apply pressure and control the course of the first half, clearly dominating possession, and the first half ended with Al-Zawraa leading by a single goal.

With the start of the second half, Al-Zawraa maintained the pace of their attacking performance and continued to exploit the opponent's spaces, managing to earn a penalty in the 53rd minute, which Ibrahim Tumiwa converted to score the second goal, enhancing their lead and increasing the pressure on Istiklol Dushanbe.

Afterward, the Tajik team intensified their attacks until they managed to score their first goal in the 64th minute, following a penalty awarded to them after a strong intervention from Al-Zawraa's goalkeeper Jalal Hassan.

Despite Istiklol Dushanbe's intense attempts in the final minutes, Al-Zawraa's defense remained organized, under the guidance of coach Imad Al-Nahas, who managed the match excellently, and the team maintained their lead to secure the important three points.

With this victory, Al-Zawraa raised its points tally to six, placing them second, while Istiklol Dushanbe remained at six points in third place, due to goal difference.
