Jesus announces the big ambition: AFC Champions League title is Al-Nassr's primary goal
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, the head coach of Al-Nassr, emphasized that the main goal for his team in the AFC Champions League is to reach the final and win the title, confirming that the match against Indian club Goa, despite its difficulty, gives them the advantage of playing at home and in front of their fans.
Jesus pointed out during the press conference in Riyadh that the team enters the match with high spirits and a desire to continue their winning streak, saying: "We aim to advance to the later stages, reach the final, and win the tournament, and we will fight on our home ground to achieve victory."
The Portuguese coach indicated that he will continue the policy of rotating players to cope with the heavy match schedule, noting that he plans to give opportunities to several players who have not participated recently, while resting some key players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, to maintain his readiness.
Jesus clarified that Al-Nassr faces a busy month of matches, and that some players are suffering from fatigue, adding: "We are playing consecutive matches and have only had two days of training before this match, yet we are at the top of the league and the Asian tournament, and we will continue to deliver our best performance."
The coach confirmed that he will rely on a group of under-21 players to rest some key names, explaining that he has great confidence in their abilities, and he did not disclose the name of the goalkeeper who will guard the net, saying: "We have three goalkeepers of excellent quality, and the decision has not been made yet."
For his part, player Abdul Rahman Ghareeb expressed his confidence in the team despite the strength of the opponent, stressing that facing Goa will be difficult, saying: "We defeated them in the first leg with a score of 2-1, and we will play with high concentration to achieve victory and continue delivering positive results."
Ghareeb concluded his statements by affirming his aspiration to return to the Saudi national team, emphasizing that continuous hard work in training and matches is his way to prove himself and provide the required contribution in every opportunity he gets.
