Mokwena Makes a Public Promise Before the Champions Adventure Begins
Tuesday 04-11-2025
Rolani Mokwena, the coach of Mouloudia Algiers, expressed his strong confidence in his team's ability to deliver an outstanding performance in the CAF Champions League for the 2025-2026 season, affirming that "the Doyen" possesses all the elements necessary to compete at the highest continental levels.

Mokwena's statements came after the recent victory over Chabab Saoura, where he said in a media interview: "We will enter the Champions League with a lot of humility, but we have a wonderful fan base, a cohesive coaching staff, and an ideal working environment that helps us succeed."

The South African coach added: "We have experience from the last edition, and we will work to leverage it to present an honorable image of the club and Algeria. We understand the magnitude of the challenges, but we are filled with determination and ambition."

The group stage draw placed Mouloudia Algiers in Group C alongside Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, Al-Hilal from Sudan, and Lupopo from Congo, in a group described as "fiery" due to the strength of the competitors.

Mokwena concluded his remarks by stating: "We will proceed with steady steps, and our goal is to improve match by match. We are not looking for promises, but for work and results."
