Monday 03-11-2025
Tottenham Hotspur coach, Thomas Frank, held a press conference today at the club's headquarters in preparation for the match against Copenhagen in the fourth round of the UEFA Champions League, scheduled for Tuesday evening at Tottenham's stadium.

In his talk with the media, Frank emphasized the importance of dealing with the events of Saturday's match against Chelsea, saying: "Yes, Mickey van de Ven and Josh Spence came to my office yesterday on their own to apologize for the situation, they did not intend to offend me or the team or the club, they were just frustrated with the performance and the loss and the boos."

Regarding the team's difficulties in home matches, Frank clarified: "I think we have to continue improving our performance and work hard in training and individual meetings, the team has improved overall, but we came after a bad performance, and that leaves an impact, the fans were amazing in the first 30 minutes against Chelsea, but they showed their displeasure after the goal, we have to deal with the pressure and criticism and continue working on developing the team."

On the possibility of training on the pitch to improve home performance, Frank mentioned: "Maybe, I haven't thought about that yet, but I always listen to good suggestions."

Regarding Lucas's absence due to injury, Frank said: "Lucas will miss the next two matches, and this is part of the medical protocol."

On the future of Spence and Mickey van de Ven after the recent incident, Frank confirmed: "We have completely closed the subject, what happened was important to me because they showed their concern for the team and the club and for myself, and that is very good."

Frank also emphasized the team's readiness to face Copenhagen: "I follow the results of the Danish league and know the level of Copenhagen, they have good European experience and I expect a tough match, I know coach Jacob Nestrup well, and I anticipate a difficult tactical challenge."

Regarding the relationship with Copenhagen fans due to his previous coaching period at Brøndby, Frank explained: "Of course, there is a relationship because of my previous work there, the fans may be happy to see me again, but some of them are not my fans, and that is normal."

Frank concluded his statements by emphasizing the team's goal: "The match is somewhat special because of my previous relationship, but the most important thing is to win, especially in the Champions League and on our home ground, and this is the best way to get back on track."
