Algeria Ranks 43rd Globally in Player Export Revenues

Sunday 02-11-2025
Algeria has secured the 43rd position globally in the annual report issued by the Football Observatory of the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), which monitors the countries that have generated the most revenue from selling players who graduated from their local clubs over the past decade.

According to the report, the total revenue of Algerian clubs reached 34 million euros between 2016 and 2025 from player transfer deals abroad, reflecting the continued strong presence of Algerian football in the global talent export market.

The observatory noted that the age group between 21 and 23 years represents the largest share of these revenues, clearly indicating the success of the Algerian training system in producing young players capable of embarking on early professional experiences in Europe and the Gulf.

With this achievement, Algeria stands alongside Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia as the only four Arab countries in the list of the top fifty globally.

On the international stage, France topped the ranking with revenues of 3.97 billion euros, followed by Brazil with 2.6 billion euros, and Spain with 2.24 billion euros, while revenues surpassed the billion mark in Portugal, the Netherlands, England, Germany, Italy, and Argentina.

The report highlights the superiority of training schools in North Africa despite limited resources, affirming that Algeria's success in exporting football talents provides its clubs with a genuine opportunity to develop their future strategies in training and marketing players on a global level.
