French defender Mohamed Simakan of Al-Nassr football team is undergoing an X-ray examination this evening, Wednesday, at one of the specialized medical centers in Riyadh, to confirm the nature of the injury he sustained during the match against Ittihad in the Round of 16 of the King Cup, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for Al-Nassr.

According to a private source for "Al-Riyadiyah", the medical examination will clarify the severity of the injury Simakan is experiencing in his hamstring, in addition to determining the appropriate treatment program and the expected period of absence from the pitch in the coming weeks.

Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus had to substitute the French defender in the 50th minute of the match after he felt sudden muscle pain, bringing in defender Abdul Ilah Al-Amri as his replacement to continue the match.

In the same context, the trio of Saad Al-Nasser, Abdul Malik Al-Jaber, and Saad Haqwi continue to implement their rehabilitation programs inside the club's clinic, under the supervision of the medical staff, following a precise timeline aimed at returning them to participation as soon as possible.

Jesus also granted the team players a 24-hour rest following the match against Ittihad, with the starting players set to undergo recovery and rehabilitation training on Thursday evening, in preparation for returning to group training ahead of the upcoming match against Al-Faihah.

Al-Nassr is preparing to resume the Roshan Saudi League competition with a match against Al-Faihah on Saturday evening at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, as part of the seventh round, where the team currently leads the standings with a perfect score after six rounds, and also tops its group in the AFC Champions League.

Regarding local tournaments, Al-Nassr has exited the King Cup from the Round of 16 after losing to Ittihad, marking the second title loss of the current season, after falling to Al-Ahli in the final of the Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong via penalty shootout 5-3.
