All eyes are on the "Al-Faisal Park" stadium in Riyadh on Tuesday evening, where Al-Nassr hosts its rival Al-Ittihad in a fiery confrontation in the Round of 16 of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, seeking a ticket to the quarter-finals.

The match carries a special significance, as each team aims to break the historical tie between them in the tournament, having met on 12 previous occasions, ending with five victories for each side and two draws that were decided by home and away matches.

Their previous encounters witnessed fierce competition and notable fan attendance, where Al-Ittihad qualified in one of the two matches that ended in a draw, giving them a slight advantage in the qualification record compared to Al-Nassr despite the equal number of victories.

The rivalry continued in subsequent editions, as they exchanged superiority between 1988 and 2019, with Al-Ittihad winning once on penalties and Al-Nassr responding in kind, before they exchanged victories in the semi-finals during the 2015-2016 and 2018-2019 seasons, making their encounters a landmark in the tournament's history.
