Al-Gharaf Club has managed to leave a distinctive mark in the Stars League of Iraq, despite its recent participation in the competition, as the team is participating this season after qualifying from the Premier League, having finished as the runner-up last season behind Al-Mosul.

One of the most prominent strengths of Al-Gharaf is its large fan base that fills the stands of Al-Nasiriya International Stadium, which accommodates 30,000 spectators.

Their presence serves as a strong motivation for the players during matches, and the brilliance is not limited to the fans, but also extends to the results achieved by the team after five rounds, where it occupies the third place with 11 points, having won three matches and drawn two.

Observers attribute Al-Gharaf's brilliance to several factors, most notably the reliance on ambitious and enthusiastic youthful energy, in addition to taking advantage of the home ground and audience, which provides the players with an additional incentive, as well as the smart tactical reading of matches by the coaching staff led by Haidar Ubaid.

In a distinctive step towards professionalism, Al-Gharaf signed a sponsorship contract with a company to enhance revenues, reducing the total reliance on government support as is the case with most Iraqi clubs.

It is worth noting that Iraq was established in the early 1990s, and from the beginning, it has focused on developing youth and juniors, becoming one of the most prominent developing football projects in the country.
