Previous Ruling: Koulibaly Deserved to be Sent Off Against Ittihad
Al-Hilal secured a victory in the classic match against Ittihad with a score of 2-0, during the sixth round of the Saudi League, yesterday Friday, at the Al-Naema Stadium.
Former referee Abdullah Al-Qahtani spoke about the incident involving Senegalese Khalidou Koulibaly, the defender of Al-Hilal, and his foul on the French star N'Golo Kante of Ittihad, stating that he deserved to be sent off in the 15th minute for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
Al-Qahtani said: "Koulibaly should have been sent off because he denied a clear goal-scoring opportunity, while Hassan Tambakti deserves a yellow card for recklessness in the same situation."
Al-Qahtani also pointed out that the referee made a mistake by not awarding a penalty to Ittihad after Frenchman Karim Benzema fell inside the Al-Hilal penalty area in the 13th minute.
