Yassine Bounou: Proud of Morocco's Victory and My Eternal Dream to Play in Argentina
Moroccan international Yassine Bounou, goalkeeper for Saudi club Al Hilal, expressed his great pride in the national under-20 team winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2025, a historic achievement that is the first of its kind in Moroccan football history, during his statements to Argentine radio "DSports Radio".
Bounou said: "I was amazed by the level of our under-20 team. The players showed courage and confidence against major teams like Argentina, France, and Brazil. We no longer play with an inferiority complex, but with the belief that we deserve our place among the greats."
He added: "The title of the youth team is not just a sporting achievement, but a message that Morocco is now recognized globally. Football is a means of bringing peoples together, and that is what we are experiencing today."
The Moroccan goalkeeper emphasized the importance of continuous development in African football, pointing out that Morocco has made qualitative strides in management, training, and infrastructure.
