Al-Zawraa team suffered a painful defeat against their host Independence Dushanbe from Tajikistan with a score of 2-1 in the match that brought the two teams together at the Hisor Central Stadium as part of the third round of the AFC Champions League 2.

Al-Zawraa started the match strongly, managing to score an early goal in the fourth minute through their Nigerian striker Ibrahim Tomiwa.

However, the hosts quickly equalized in the twentieth minute through player Dzurabov, ending the first half with a positive draw of one goal each, amidst an unsatisfactory performance from the Al-Nawras.

In the second half, Al-Zawraa's performance improved somewhat, and they began to press and try to reach the goal, but the Tajik team took advantage of a sudden counter-attack to score the winning goal in the 84th minute by Komulafi, achieving a valuable victory on their home ground.

With this result, Al-Zawraa's points remain frozen at three, placing them third in the standings of Group D of the AFC Champions League 2.
