The African Football Confederation has announced the list of players nominated for the Best Player in the continent award for 2025 during the annual CAF ceremony, amid widespread anticipation from African football fans.

The list highlights four players from Egypt's Pyramids FC, the reigning champions of the African Champions League, including: Ibrahim Adel, who recently transferred to Al-Jazira in the UAE, and Mohamed El-Shaybi, the team's right-back, along with Burkina Faso midfielder Blati Toure, and Congolese forward and club top scorer, Viston Mayele.

Also nominated is Imam Ashour from Egypt's Al Ahly, despite his team's exit from the semi-finals of the African Champions League, which prevented them from retaining the title for the third consecutive season. Additionally, Isufu Dayo from Morocco's RS Berkane is included alongside his teammate Osama Lamlawi.

Representing Morocco's Royal Army is player Mohamed Harimat, while Libya's Al Ahli Tripoli is represented by Ismail Belkassmi, and Tanzania's Simba has player Shumari Kabumbi.

The last recipient of the Best Player award in the continent was Ronwen Williams, the goalkeeper for South Africa's Sundowns in 2024.

African football fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the date and ceremony for the awards, as this event will be a significant occasion to honor the top stars in the African continent for 2025.
