The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has nominated the Algerian national team among the final list of teams competing for the Best African Team Award for the year 2025, following a year filled with achievements and brilliance at both continental and international levels.

Today, Wednesday, the official CAF account on the platform 'X' (formerly Twitter) published a list of 10 teams competing for the prestigious award, which includes the Algerian team alongside teams such as: Cape Verde, Tunisia, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Ghana, South Africa, Morocco, and the Moroccan U-20 team, which recently won the Youth World Cup against Argentina.

This nomination comes as a recognition of the outstanding levels demonstrated by the 'Greens' throughout this year, whether in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup or in friendly matches that showed technical stability and a noticeable improvement in collective performance under the leadership of coach Vladimir Petkovic.

The winner of the Best African Team Award for 2025 is expected to be announced during the CAF Awards ceremony scheduled for the end of this year, amid strong competition among the nominated teams that have made a remarkable season in the realm of African football.
