Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne faces significant changes in his role with Napoli this season, after transitioning from being a chance creator at Manchester City to a roaming playmaker at Napoli, according to 'Football Italia'.

The site analyzed De Bruyne's performance and statistics during his first nine matches with Napoli, in preparation for the clash against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, following Napoli's 1-0 defeat to Torino. The numbers showed that De Bruyne scored three goals in seven matches in Serie A, all from set pieces, without providing any assists, while he delivered two assists in two Champions League matches.

Experts noted that his new role focuses on participating in building attacks and increasing shots on goal, but he has become less effective in providing assists, as he has moved more towards the midfield and left wing, the same area occupied by Scott McTominay.

Former Italian defender Beppe Bergomi stated: "It’s about the position and the players he has to collaborate with; he can't play on the right side because there are Politano and Anguissa, so he has to move more, and that makes providing assists harder. I still believe he can increase his shots on goal, but we will see fewer assists because Napoli's playing style is different from Manchester City's."
