Napoli monitors the readiness of McTominay and Hojlund before facing Eindhoven

Napoli clarified the latest developments regarding the injuries of its players Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the anticipated UEFA Champions League match against Eindhoven.

According to "Calcio Mercato," McTominay is suffering from an ankle wound that required six stitches after an injury during training, while Hojlund is experiencing muscle fatigue in his thigh after his appearances with the Danish national team, making both players doubtful for the upcoming match.

Coach Antonio Conte spoke about the players' situation, saying: "If they were ready, we would have used them. McTominay tried to train after his injury but preferred to stay away, and Hojlund arrived from the national team tired and felt irritation in his thigh. We play every three days, and any fatigue becomes a problem; there’s no point in taking risks. We have alternatives; the best is a horse that is sound and not limping."

The same source added that Hojlund has a greater chance of facing Eindhoven than McTominay, who is likely to return only for the league match against Inter next Saturday.
