Frabotta Reveals Ronaldo's Strange Behavior to Show His Frustration with Sarri's Instructions

Former Juventus defender Gianluca Frabotta revealed a strange way used by the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo to express his frustration with the tactical instructions of coach Maurizio Sarri during the 2019/2020 season at Allianz Stadium.

Frabotta said: "During one of the tactical training sessions, Sarri was explaining to him the movements he should make during set pieces. Ronaldo was a bit annoyed and didn't need the instructions; he could internally feel where the ball would arrive. To make the coach understand, he tore up some grass, smelled it, and chewed it."

Frabotta explained that Ronaldo interpreted his behavior by saying: "I like to understand the pitch and know where the ball will go."

Despite this strange way of expressing his opinion, Ronaldo spent three seasons with Juventus, scoring 101 goals in 134 matches. His most productive season was under Sarri's leadership, where he scored 37 goals in 46 matches and contributed to the team's winning the Serie A title, which is the last title the club has won so far.

Regarding his career after Juventus, Frabotta moved to play for clubs Verona, Frosinone, Bari, Cosenza, and West Bromwich Albion, before joining Cesena in the Italian Serie B this summer.

About his experience in England, Frabotta stated: "After some positive months in Cosenza, I accepted the offer from West Bromwich. Things didn't go well, and I met people who were disrespectful towards me. Even though I felt good and trained my best, my efforts were never taken into account. I felt helpless and lonely, but I decided to fight to come back."
