Holland Legend Critiques De Jong: Learn from Pedri
The historic striker of the Netherlands national team, Marco van Basten, criticized the level of his compatriot Frenkie de Jong, the Barcelona midfielder, with the national team.
Van Basten stated: "We expected Frenkie to speed up the game, but he didn't... and this disappointed me a lot. He acted like a postman; his role is to move the ball quickly from the back to the front, but he barely succeeded in that."
He added: "It's a shame because he has the vision and ability to do that."
He continued: "Look at Pedri, he plays faster and takes more risks in attack, and this is what we expect from Frenkie, but this is unfortunate."
