Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Argentine striker Julian Alvarez still considers Barcelona as his first and only choice if he leaves Atletico Madrid during the current summer transfer window.
Romano confirmed that Alvarez's desire to wear the Barcelona jersey is '100% certain', noting that the player remains committed to moving to the Catalan club, repeatedly stating that his preferred destination is Barcelona.
He added that staying with Atletico Madrid seems difficult if Alvarez's desire to leave persists, explaining that if Barcelona fails to complete the deal, the player may have to consider other options to leave the club.
Romano concluded by affirming that Barcelona will attempt again to sign Alvarez, with a clearer picture expected to emerge as the transfer market progresses during July and August.
It is noted that Real Madrid offered 150 million euros to sign Alvarez, but the offer was rejected, while Barcelona offered 100 million euros, which was also rejected by the Rojiblancos, as Atletico insists on the release clause in his contract, valued at 500 million euros.
