Basic Considers Leaving Inter Milan in January

Reports have revealed that German defender Jan Aurell Basic is considering leaving Inter Milan during the upcoming winter transfer window, should his absence from the team's starting lineup continue, following the arrival of Swiss player Manuel Akanji.

According to the website "Football Italy", Basic was among the players suggested to leave last summer to provide financial liquidity for the club, but the management decided to keep him, while Benjamin Pavard moved to Marseille.

However, Basic's hopes of getting a greater chance to participate have diminished after Akanji's impressive performance, who joined Inter Milan on loan from Manchester City with a purchase option, and quickly established himself in the starting lineup.

The report clarified that the German player wants to find a new club next January to maintain his chances of being included in Germany's squad for the 2026 World Cup, especially since he has only participated for 157 minutes this season, which is 114 minutes less than the same period last season.

The report also mentioned that Crystal Palace was among those interested in Basic's services, but the player may reconsider his options in the near future, with the possibility of his selling price decreasing from the original amount of 40 million euros.
