Saturday 11-10-2025
The Algerian national team has officially qualified for the 2026 World Cup finals, following their deserved victory over the Somalia national team with three goals to none, in the match that took place in the ninth round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup.

The goals for the "Desert Warriors" were scored by Mohamed Amine Amoura (two goals) and Riyad Mahrez, leading the team to a victory that secures them a ticket to the global event before one round remains in the qualifiers.

With this qualification, the Algerian Football Federation will receive a financial grant of $9.55 million from the International Football Federation (FIFA), which is the reward allocated to the teams that qualify for the finals.

This qualification is the first for Algeria since the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where the team reached the Round of 16 in a historic achievement that is still etched in the memory of Algerian fans.
