The Algerian national team has officially secured its qualification for the 2026 World Cup finals after a well-deserved victory over the Somalia national team, winning three goals to none, in a match held on Thursday evening at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran, as part of the ninth round of World Cup qualifiers.

The goals for the "Greens" were scored by Riyad Mahrez with one goal and Mohamed Amine Amoura with two goals, in a match dominated by the players of coach Vladimir Petkovic in terms of performance and result.

With this victory, the Algerian team raised its tally to 22 points at the top of Group 7, officially securing its qualification for the 2026 World Cup scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with one round remaining in the qualifiers.

The Algerian team is set to conclude its qualifying campaign with a match against the Uganda national team, in a formal encounter after securing the historic qualification early.
