Rakraki: There is no Moroccan who does not want quality education and health
National coach Walid Rakraki expressed his understanding of the demands of Generation 'Z', affirming that "there is no Moroccan in the world who does not want quality education and health," adding, "I hope that this can be achieved with respect and without violence."
During the press conference he held today, Thursday, to announce the list of the Moroccan national team for the matches against Bahrain and Congo, Rakraki explained the reason for choosing to play against Bahrain, saying: "We did not look for a team similar to African teams due to their commitments, and the most important thing is to find a friendly match against a respectable team that is looking for victory, and we are required to find solutions to excel over them."
In this context, Rakraki praised the high level presented by the Moroccan under-20 team, led by coach Mohamed Wahbi in the Chile World Cup, after winning against Spain and Brazil consecutively, pointing out that "the Atlas Cubs" have become a respectable team globally.
He added: "We have beaten Brazil at all levels: senior, Olympic, and youth. It is not unlikely that we will see players from the U20 team with the senior team soon."
Rakraki confirmed that pressure remains present on the senior team, which is constantly asked to win, despite the numerous injuries that sometimes hinder calling the entire squad, emphasizing the value of the substitutes who have contributed to the team's results recently.
Regarding the defense line, the coach highlighted that Roman Saïss remains a key option due to the absence of a substitute with the same quality and experience, saying: "We have tried several names in this position, but we have not yet found the ideal substitute."
As for player Omar Hilali, he confirmed that his absence is not related to technical performance, but rather to strong competition with prominent names such as Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui, and Mohamed Chibi.
Rakraki concluded by talking about Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi, stating that he deserved to win the Ballon d'Or, adding, "I told him that he must continue to develop, and he confirmed that in the last match against Barcelona in the Champions League."
