Arsenal star Mikel Merino appeared in press statements after the 2-1 victory over Newcastle in the sixth round of the Premier League.

To come back and score the winning goal, with a header in the same goal where I scored while wearing the Newcastle shirt, is magical."

Regarding whether this victory will help the team mentally after missing some opportunities in other matches, he said: "Maybe for the fans or you in the media, but for us, no. We know very well the level of performance we provide and the quality of the chances we create."

He concluded: "Winning the way we did today shows the character of the team and the level of confidence we have in each other, and the amount of confidence in ourselves.
