The Appeals Committee of the Iraqi Football Association announced its decision to reduce the penalties imposed on the clubs of Zakho and Duhok, following the events that accompanied the Iraq Cup final between the two teams in July.

According to the new decision, both clubs were fined 50 million Iraqi dinars, in addition to banning the fans of both teams from attending 4 matches in the Iraq Cup.

The committee also decided to suspend the previous penalties that prohibited the fans of both clubs from attending the first round matches in the Iraqi league, which allows Duhok fans to be present in their stadium during the match against Al-Karkh on Saturday in the third round of the league, while Zakho fans will be able to support their team against Nawruz in the fourth round.
