The National Company for the Implementation and Management of Major Sports Facilities in Morocco "Sonarges" announced the official decision to close the Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca starting from November 9, in order to carry out comprehensive renovations in preparation for hosting the Africa Cup of Nations finals in 2025, scheduled between December 21, 2025, and January 18, 2026.

Under this decision, any official matches will be prohibited on the historic stadium's pitch starting from the mentioned date, in a step aimed at delivering the complex in the best condition for the Confederation of African Football.

This development puts the Wydad Athletic Club and Raja Athletic Club in a real predicament, as they will have to search for alternative stadiums to host their matches, especially Wydad, which is competing on the African front, complicating its mission in the upcoming challenges.
