Fawzi Lajji, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, expressed his regret over the Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi not winning the Ballon d'Or, after finishing sixth in the final ranking of the best players in the world for 2025.

Lajji congratulated the Paris Saint-Germain star on this historic achievement, considering that reaching this advanced position reflects the prestigious status he has gained in the international football arena, thanks to his significant contributions both with his club and with the Moroccan national team.

The federation president also congratulated goalkeeper Yassine Bono after he ranked fifth among the best goalkeepers in the world, affirming that the achievements of both players are a source of pride for Moroccan football, while emphasizing that Hakimi deserved a better rank considering the impressive levels he showcased during the past season.
