Inter Milan Targets Leeds United Goalkeeper
Thursday 25-09-2025
Reports have revealed that Inter Milan is planning to make a move in the upcoming winter transfer market to sign Leeds United's goalkeeper, Illan Meslier, as a long-term replacement for Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

According to what was reported by 'Football Italia', Inter is leading the race to sign the French goalkeeper, whose contract with Leeds ends in the summer of 2026. The English club is looking to benefit from his departure in January for a transfer fee, rather than losing him for free at the end of the season.

Meslier, who is 25 years old, has played 215 matches for Leeds, including 107 in the Premier League, but he has lost his starting position this season after the signing of Brazilian goalkeeper Lucas Pereira.

On the other hand, Inter is preparing to restructure the goalkeeper position, as Sommer's contract ends in the summer of 2026, and at the age of 36, his chances of renewal seem slim. Despite having goalkeeper Josep Martinez as a future option, reports indicate that the Nerazzurri management prefers to sign Meslier to enhance competition in this position.
