Wissam Abu Ali Out for 6 Weeks with Columbus
Reports have revealed that the injury has ended the season for Palestinian international Wissam Abu Ali, striker for the American club Columbus Crew, which he sustained during his participation in the match against Toronto FC on September 20, with a slight fracture in his right ankle.
Abu Ali was injured while attempting to intercept a pass to a Toronto defender, and despite this, he remained on the field for nearly 10 minutes afterward before needing medical attention and being taken out of his team's lineup.
The head coach of Columbus Crew confirmed that Wissam Abu Ali would be absent for a long period, potentially up to six weeks, specifically until the beginning of November.
The Columbus coach stated in press remarks: "It is clear that Wissam Abu Ali was in a good mental state; he was in great spirits when he learned that he would not be able to play in the upcoming period, as you saw, he was performing well before the injury."
It is noteworthy that Crew signed Abu Ali during the summer transfer window from Al Ahly SC, where he scored 28 goals in one season.
