The former Algerian international Yacine Brahimi, star of Qatari club Al Gharafa, has chosen his compatriot and current national team captain Riyad Mahrez as the best player in the history of Algerian football.
During his appearance on the "QSL MAGAZINE" program on Qatari sports channels, Brahimi made comparisons between the most prominent stars of Algerian football over the decades, including Rachid Mekhloufi, Mustapha Dahleb, Salah Assad, Ali Bencheikh, Jamal Menad, Abdelhafid Tasfaout, Ismael Bennacer, Antar Yahia, Majid Bougherra, Ramy Bensebaini, Islam Slimani, and Lakhdar Belloumi.
Despite the difficulty of choosing among these prominent names, Brahimi ultimately preferred Mahrez over all the candidates, including Rabah Madjer, asserting that the current star of Al Ahli Saudi is his favorite legend in the history of Algerian football.
