Medical Tests Determine Al-Shanqeeti's Fate with Ittihad
Sunday 21-09-2025
The right-back Mohannad Al-Shanqeeti, a player for Ittihad, is undergoing precise medical tests today, Sunday, aimed at accurately diagnosing his condition and determining the appropriate treatment program following the injury he sustained in the last round.

Al-Shanqeeti suffered a muscle injury during the match against Al-Najma, which took place on Saturday as part of the third round of the Roshan Saudi League, which ended with Ittihad winning 1-0.

French coach Laurent Blanc was forced to substitute the player in the 25th minute of the match, allowing Serbian Carlo Simic to replace him until the end of the game.

Al-Shanqeeti has participated in five official matches with Ittihad since the start of the season across three different tournaments: the AFC Champions League, the Saudi Super Cup, and the Roshan League, during which he managed to score one goal and provide an assist.

Ittihad is preparing to resume its collective training on Sunday as part of its preparations to face Al-Wahda next Tuesday at King Abdulaziz Sports City in Mecca, in the Round of 32 of the King's Cup.

Ittihad is currently in second place in the Roshan Saudi League standings with nine points from three consecutive victories, tied with the leading Al-Nassr in points but separated by goal difference.
