The Qatari coach of the Iraqi Zakho team, Wissam Rizq, praised the performance of his players following the important victory over Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya with a score of 2-1 in the second round of the Iraqi Stars League, confirming that the team delivered an outstanding match and deserved all the points.

Rizq said: "Zakho team showed very high levels in yesterday's match against Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, and thank God we achieved victory in a difficult and complicated match against a great competitor like the Falcons. I congratulate my team on the performance and result, we were the better side and deserved the points wholeheartedly because we managed to match the Falcons for most of the minutes of the encounter."

He added: "The players on the field were more than amazing, and thank God the substitutions were positive. The coaching staff read the match, and based on the performance and developments, we made the necessary changes. We achieved what was important in the encounter and hope that this victory will be a starting point for positive results, especially since Zakho does not deserve anything less than competing for the top spots."

Rizq continued: "On a personal level, we have confidence in the administration, which is cooperating excellently with us, especially the club president and the governor. Our ambition is to win one of the titles at the end of the season, especially since we will be playing on three fronts: the Iraqi Stars League, the Iraqi Cup, and the Gulf Champions League. Therefore, we will try to be on time."

He added: "We are in urgent need of our fans, as they are the motivation and the main factor in achieving our goals. The city of Zakho loves football, and from here I send an urgent message to the Iraqi Federation and urge them to lift the ban on our fans so they can return to the stands again, because they are the spirit of the Iraqi league and not just Zakho Club. I hope that the issue will be resolved as soon as possible."
