The competitions committee in the Iraqi Premier League decided on Thursday to move the matches of Al-Shorta team in the second and third rounds to another stadium outside the capital Baghdad.

Al-Da'wa, the league's media director, Hussein Al-Khursani, explained that the match between Al-Shorta and Duhok on the 21st of this month, as well as the match against Nawruz on the 25th of the same month, will be held at Al-Fayha Stadium in Basra instead of Baghdad.

Al-Khursani pointed out that this decision came as a result of the unpreparedness of most stadiums in Baghdad, and the Al-Shorta Stadium undergoing maintenance work, noting that the club's management obtained approval from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to use Al-Fayha Stadium as the team's alternative stadium.

Accordingly, the Green Lyre Brigade will play its upcoming matches at Al-Fayha Stadium until its stadium in Baghdad is ready, while the competitions committee had previously postponed the match between Al-Shorta and Al-Zawraa in the first round due to both teams' commitments to Asian obligations.
