Shobeir: Pyramids Need to Increase Their Popularity
Wednesday 17-09-2025
Media figure Ahmed Shobeir commented on statements made by Ahmed Nagy Jado, the coach of Pyramids, who said that the match between his team and Auckland City in the Intercontinental Cup did not receive enough attention.

Pyramids achieved a victory against New Zealand's Auckland City with a score of 3-0 in a match held last Sunday in the first round of the Intercontinental Cup.

Shobeir said on his radio program on "On Sport FM": "Jado said that Pyramids played against Auckland City as if the matter was secret, and honestly, he is right; there should have been more attention than that."

He added: "The problem is that Pyramids is a strong club, but it is not a popular club, unlike Al Ahly, Zamalek, Ittihad, Ismaily, or El Mahalla, which every governorate can rally around. If Al Ahly or Zamalek were in Pyramids' place, the attention would have been multiplied."

He advised the management of Pyramids, saying: "What is required from you in the coming period is to work on increasing your popularity among the fans, and this is not an easy task but it is necessary."
