The Algerian national football team settled for a goalless draw (0-0) against their Guinean counterpart in a match held on Monday evening at the Mohammed V complex in Casablanca, as part of the eighth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers for Group Seven.

Despite the result, the "Greens" continued to sit at the top of the standings with 19 points, needing only three additional points to officially secure a spot in the World Cup, regardless of the results of the other teams.

In the same group, Uganda achieved a valuable victory over Somalia with a score of 2-0, while Mozambique outperformed their guest Botswana with the same result (2-0).

The Algerian team will play their next match away against Somalia in the ninth round scheduled between October 6 and 14, while Uganda will face Botswana, and Mozambique will host the Guinean team.
