Leonardo Considers Terminating His Contract with Al-Hilal
Sources have confirmed that Brazilian Marcos Leonardo, a player for Al-Hilal, is thinking about terminating his contract with the Saudi team after the failure of negotiations for his transfer to São Paulo on a 4-month loan basis.
According to sources, Leonardo, after being excluded from Al-Hilal's plans for the new season, was waiting to reach an agreement for a transfer to São Paulo this summer on loan, which did not happen due to Al-Hilal's refusal to cover any portion of his salary during the loan period.
Reports revealed Leonardo's desire to leave Al-Hilal after his name was removed from the local roster participating this season in the Roshan League, after exceeding the legal age for players born abroad.
According to sources, Leonardo is discussing with his lawyer and representatives the possibility of filing a request to terminate his contract with Al-Hilal, taking advantage of the legal provision in the regulations of the International Football Federation (FIFA), which states that if a player is not registered in the local league, especially a young foreign player, he can take legal action against the club to end the contractual relationship.
Sources indicated that Leonardo's representatives are studying the matter carefully, and the Brazilian player has returned to Riyadh to join Al-Hilal's training sessions normally, adhering to the club's internal regulations.
