Tottenham Inquires About Mateta

Sky Sports revealed that Tottenham Hotspur made a late inquiry about signing Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta before the summer transfer window closed, without submitting a formal offer.

Despite the interest of several clubs in the team's stars, including Eberechi Eze and Marc Guéhi, Crystal Palace managed to retain several of its prominent players, including Mateta and Daniel Munoz, despite strong offers received by the club.

Notable European clubs, including Atalanta, Milan, Juventus, and several Premier League teams, expressed their desire to acquire Mateta, and Palace previously rejected offers worth around £50 million from clubs participating in the Champions League to part with the player.

It is worth mentioning that Mateta joined Crystal Palace in January 2021 from Mainz in Germany, in a deal worth around £15 million, and the 28-year-old French player has established himself as one of the top strikers in the Premier League.
