Egyptian Media Syndicate Chief: Encrypting Matches is the Language of the Era
Tarik Saada, the head of the Egyptian Media Syndicate, revealed the possibility of encrypting Premier League matches in the near future, pointing out that this is the language of the era.
Saada confirmed that all state bodies and institutions need media as it is the mirror that conveys and reflects the accurate public opinion ideas to society.
He said: "The new sports law is a set of changes that have occurred to the old law and not its cancellation; there have been rapid changes in sports that had to be addressed by issuing a new sports law."
He added in statements to "Al-Mahwar" channel: "Digital media is beneficial and aims to deliver information easily; 70% of the Egyptian people do not watch television, and this percentage is likely to increase, as everyone is currently focusing on digital media programs and platforms."
He continued: "Encrypting matches is permissible, and the club has the right to sell broadcasting rights; this is the language of the era. A social media page that exceeds 5,000 followers is held accountable just like a media outlet."
He concluded his remarks: "Sports fanaticism exists everywhere in the world, but it is not very prevalent in Egypt currently. I follow all sports programs, and there are some programs that need 'refinement.' Egyptian media is doing well, but it needs a bit of trust and continuous development."
