Union Approaches Loan of Hernandez After Securing Dombia Deal
The management of Al-Ittihad Club is moving towards the option of loaning Spanish midfielder Unai Hernandez after receiving an offer from Al-Shabab Club to sign him during the current summer transfer window, according to informed sources.
The sources confirmed that the Jeddah administration has already started official negotiations with their counterparts at Al-Shabab to complete the loan deal before the transfer market closes on September 10.
The sources mentioned that the consideration of this step came after reaching a final agreement with Belgian club Royal Antwerp to acquire the Malian midfielder Mohamedou Dombia, who is 21 years old, on a contract that extends for five full seasons.
The Ittihad officials decided to register Dombia under the category of players born in 1999, which opens the door for the loan of Hernandez to Al-Shabab until the end of the season, especially after his presence has become a lower priority on the team’s roster.
It is noteworthy that Hernandez joined Al-Ittihad last February from Spanish club Barcelona on a three-year contract, but his future is now linked to the decision of the technical management.
In a parallel context, Al-Ittihad is close to concluding its negotiations with Portuguese club Braga to sign the young winger Roger Fernandes, who is 21 years old, with the new contract expected to extend for four seasons.
According to the agreement between the two clubs, the Portuguese player will be registered in the under-21 list, forming a new technical addition to the team's attacking line for the upcoming season.
