Al-Najma Considers Signing Spanish Goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco

The management of Al-Najma Club is considering signing Spanish goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco, alongside evaluating another Brazilian option, to strengthen the goalkeeper position during the ongoing summer transfer market, according to sources for 'Al-Riyadiyah'.

The sources indicated that Pacheco, who is currently not affiliated with any club, is the name closest to joining as of the time of preparing the news, despite ongoing negotiations with the other goalkeeper in anticipation of any changes that might hinder the deal.

These moves come after negotiations with an Argentine goalkeeper, who was close to joining, stumbled, prompting them to broaden their options and search for a suitable replacement to protect the team's goal in the new season.

Pacheco has an impressive record in European leagues, having started his career with Obandino and Flecha Negra, before moving to Real Madrid's academy in 2006, when he was fourteen years old.

The Spanish goalkeeper progressed through the age categories of Real Madrid until he represented the 'Castilla' team between 2012 and 2014, with his appearances for the first team limited to Copa del Rey matches, but he won the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup in 2014-2015 with the royal team.

In 2015, he donned the Deportivo Alavés jersey with a three-season contract that included a clause allowing him to return to Real Madrid, then joined Almería in 2022, but did not receive sufficient minutes, leading him to quickly depart to Espanyol during the winter transfer window.
