Agent Denies Lodi's Move to Al-Shabab: 'The Era of Slavery is Over'
Tuesday 02-09-2025
The agent of Brazilian player Renan Lodi, Pablo Miranda, responded to circulating news about his client's transfer from Al-Hilal to Al-Shabab during the summer transfer period, confirming that the player is keen to continue with his current team.

Miranda explained in statements to the Saudi newspaper 'Al-Riyadiyah' that Lodi is unaware of any negotiations between the two clubs, pointing out that a transfer cannot happen without the knowledge and consent of the player himself.

The agent added: "There has been no communication with us from either Al-Shabab or Al-Hilal regarding the deal, and if there is a discussion between the two administrations, it is natural to inform the player, as the era of slavery is over."

Reports had mentioned that Al-Hilal's management had given the green light for the player's transfer to Al-Shabab this summer, but Miranda's statements came to temporarily close the door on these rumors.

He confirmed that his client wishes to complete his contract with Al-Hilal, which runs until 2027, noting that the only communication received was from Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, who informed them that Lodi was on the list for the elite AFC Champions League only.

Renan Lodi participated in 42 matches with Al-Hilal last season, scoring four goals and providing ten assists, since joining from French club Marseille in January 2024 for 22 million euros.
