The Iraq U23 team has clarified the status of their player Ali Jassim regarding his participation in the Asian Cup qualifiers, which will be hosted by Cambodia from September 3 to 9, following his recent transfer from the Italian club Como to the newly promoted Saudi team Al-Najma in the Roshan Professional League.

The team, led by coach Imad Mohammed, is undergoing a training camp in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, where they played a friendly match against the Indian national team and managed to win 3-1, as part of their preparations for the Asian qualifiers.

According to a source within the coaching staff, it has been confirmed that Ali Jassim will participate in the qualifiers normally and will be part of the camp that will start tomorrow, Sunday, after the conclusion of their club camps, alongside Al-Zawraa players Sajad Fadhel and Sajad Mahdi, and Al-Shorta player Abdul Razzaq Qasim, to ensure the team's full squad before traveling to Cambodia.

Ali Jassim's participation comes after his transfer to the Saudi league, making this experience an opportunity to enhance his technical level and engage in strong competitions, without affecting the national team's commitments in the upcoming qualifiers, reflecting the coaching staff's commitment to balancing the interests of players between clubs and national teams.
