Tottenham Competes with Premier League Giants for Lucas Paquetá

Media reports have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur has shown surprising interest in signing Brazilian star Lucas Paquetá, the midfielder for West Ham United, during the ongoing summer transfer window, amid strong competition from other clubs.

According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", Tottenham is looking to strengthen its midfield after several previous negotiations failed due to high prices, and sees Paquetá as a suitable option, despite being aware of the difficulty in signing him given the interest from other clubs, most notably Aston Villa.

Paquetá has recently returned to the radar of several clubs after being cleared of previous allegations of match-fixing, and the Brazilian player's name has been linked with a move to Manchester City, Aston Villa, as well as Saudi club Al Nassr.

It is worth noting that Lucas Paquetá joined West Ham United in the summer of 2022 from French club Lyon, and his contract extends until the summer of 2027 with an option for an additional year.

During the last season, he participated in 36 matches across various competitions, scoring 5 goals, and has played in the opening two matches of the current season, scoring one goal.
